Our Wines
Quality instead of quantity
As a winery in the South Tyrolean Lowlands — the heart of the Lagrein and Pinot Noir area — our focus is primarily on red wine. Over the years, we have also discovered the potential of our sites for white wines and Bordeaux varieties. Today, our range includes Lagrein, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, with most grapes coming from our own vineyards. Our wines are divided into two lines: TRADITION and RAUT.
Pinot Blanc DOC
An elegant South Tyrolean Pinot Bianco with refined freshness and clarity.
RAUT
The RAUT wine line reflects Clemens Waldthaler’s quality philosophy and was created in 1983. Its name derives from “rauten”, a local term for planting a new vineyard. This line focuses on low yields, late harvesting and aging in small oak barrels to produce distinctive wines from the finest vintages. RAUT wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes. Since 1989, RAUT has been a registered and protected trademark.
TRADITION
The TRADITION line is defined by an extended maturation process. Red wines age for at least 36 months, including 24 months in wooden barrels. Rosé and white wines mature for at least 12 months. The name TRADITION reflects our long family history and deep bond with wine. Grapes for this line come mainly from our own vineyards, complemented by a small share of selected purchased grapes.
